# Introduction

Official Farluna Whitepaper (11/29/2021). Play and Earn. Play for Change.

The adaption of blockchain technology in games using Non Fungible Tokens (NFT) and cryptocurrency tokens brings about a flourishing new era of gaming.

Now, players own game assets with NFT and earn cryptocurrency tokens passively while playing or through other game activities. Moreover, players can sell their assets if they do not want to play a game anymore. In the future, game assets will be compatible with different games and that will be the start of the real metaverse.

Our vision is to make a game that is

* ***Casual*** – play quick and leisurely
* ***Simple*** – easy to play
* ***Strategic*** – hard to master
* ***Low Barrier*** – low cost to entry
* ***Player Centric*** – a thriving game ecosystem that is rewarding for all player types
* ***Social Impact*** – bring about social impact in the real world

Our mission is to make a game that will stay true to our core vision and through this, improve and contribute to the success of the blockchain gaming space that will translate to improving lives in the real world.

## About Farluna

Farluna is a casual simulation role play and earn game in the Binance Smart Chain network.\
\
The game will be initially released as a web application and will be ported as Android and iOS applications in the future.

Farluna is inspired by Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, Farmville, and Townstar.

# Key Features

{% hint style="danger" %}
**NOTE: Not all features are available at launch and are subject to change in accordance with the roadmap where the final decision shall be made at the sole discretion of the Farluna team.**
{% endhint %}

* **Play for Change** – Farluna will be collaborating with social enterprises to help farmers in the real world be self-sufficient.
* **Fixed Entry Fee (Farluna VISA Admin Fee)** – Encourages everyone to join the game easily and with less worry as the entry point will be the same for all. Players who know and join the game late would not be heavily disadvantaged as the barrier of entry remain stable (unlike some blockchain games where it becomes exponentially costly to late joiners)
* **Town Assignment** – Farlunians get an individual farm in a random town of a specific land zone based on the Farluna Visa tier. Farlunians will complete individual daily and weekly quests issued by the Town Hall. Cooperate with townmates to complete the King’s Decree. Exclusive In-Game Store and NFT Marketplace.
* **New Farming Mode** – A new approach to the farming game genre. Tier of land, tools, and seed packs will affect harvest yield. For each new crop introduced, there would be limited seed sales in the in-game store and event shop. Subsequently, those crop types can only be obtained from players through seed conversion of harvested crops (of a particular crop type).
* **Seasons** – One Season is one real-world calendar month. One game year is then four calendar months. Out-of-season crops cannot be planted (some exceptions will apply).
* **Day/Night Cycle** – Farlunians can do their activities as long as it is daytime, in-game. Crop growth and maturity are "Day" based. Daytime is from 00:01 UTC to 20:00 UTC. Server maintenance and other special events are night activities; Nighttime is from 20:01 to 24:00 UTC.
* **Quest System** – Daily and Weekly Quests for Solo play. King’s Decree for Town Coop Quests.
* **Tier Based Rewards** – Complete Quests and earn Farluna Shards. Level up to the next tier using Farluna Shards. Higher tier means better rewards.
* **Dual Token Approach** – Farluna Token (**FLNA**) is the Blockchain Token. This is the token created on the Binance Smart Chain blockchain network that players have full ownership of and may be traded on decentralized exchanges. Farluna Coin (**FLC)** is the In-game Token that can be used within the game or converted to Farluna Token. There is a multitude of ways to earn Farluna Coins.
* **Personal Inflation** – Converting Farluna Coin to Token often, will increase a Farlunian’s inflation counter. Hit a specific inflation point and the inflation rate will increase.
* **Farluna Bank** – The pillar of Farluna. The Bank will protect Farluna’s economy by incentivizing Farlunians. Banks offer several options to earn more coins that Farlunians can convert to tokens.
* **NFT Avatars** – An avatar when activated can provide in-game boosts for a game year. Use extra avatars in mining or staffing factories and shops.
* **NFT Fashion** – Farlunians can customize their avatars. Fashion NFTs will have set boost effects when equipped with an active Avatar.
* **NFT Marketplace** – Buy and sell NFT’s with other players. There are two Marketplaces in-game, Town Marketplace is exclusive to town members. Global Marketplace will be available for all Farlunians.
* **Achievement System** – Earn rewards when you hit milestones. Show it off or view them in your trophy room.
* **Weather System** – Dynamic Weather that can bring benefits or inconvenience to Farlunians and adds an additional layer of game dynamics.
* **Guild System** – Create or join a Commerce Guild and compete for business rights. Avatar is required to participate in Guild business activity.

# VISA

**Farluna VISA** is proof of the identity of Farlunians. As such, settlers need to secure a Farluna VISA when moving to Farluna. A fixed admin fee is applied for the VISA application.

In addition, the Farluna VISA’s seal serves as an identifier of a Farlunian’s tier. Moving up to higher tiers allows players to enjoy better benefits such as more farm features and higher quest reward caps.

# Land Zones

There are five land zones in Farluna Continent. The closer to the capital, the fertile the land is. Higher VISA seal tier unlocks farm expansions.

<table><thead><tr><th width="150" align="center">Visa Seal</th><th width="150" align="center">Tier</th><th width="150" align="center">Land Ownership</th><th width="150" align="center">Land Fertility (%)</th><th>Farm Expansion</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td align="center">Bronze Seal</td><td align="center">1</td><td align="center">No</td><td align="center">50 - 60%</td><td>Default Farm</td></tr><tr><td align="center">Silver Seal</td><td align="center">2</td><td align="center">No</td><td align="center">60 - 70%</td><td>Wood Trees</td></tr><tr><td align="center">Gold Seal</td><td align="center">3</td><td align="center">No</td><td align="center">70 - 80%</td><td>Livestocks</td></tr><tr><td align="center">Diamond Seal</td><td align="center">4</td><td align="center">No</td><td align="center">80 - 90%</td><td>Aquatic Ponds</td></tr><tr><td align="center">Platinum Seal</td><td align="center">5</td><td align="center">Yes</td><td align="center">90 - 99%</td><td>Fruit Trees</td></tr></tbody></table>

# Avatars and Workers

Farlunians can acquire **Farluna Avatars**, a limited series, and unique NFT, that have different boosts to assist them in their quest for glory in Farluna.

Farlunians can own as many Avatars as they can but can only equip one per game year to activate the corresponding Avatar's Boost.

Fret not, unequipped Avatars can be still be used by deploying them to different activities.

Below are the stats for the Series 00 Avatars. There will only be 10,000 of these Avatars minted.

<table><thead><tr><th width="150" align="center">Rarity</th><th width="150" align="center">Tier</th><th width="150" align="center">Boost</th><th align="center">Sample Bonus Effect</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td align="center">Common</td><td align="center">1</td><td align="center">One Season Boost + 30%</td><td align="center">Spring Harvest Bonus + 30%</td></tr><tr><td align="center">Rare</td><td align="center">2</td><td align="center">Two Season Boost + 15%</td><td align="center"><p>Spring Harvest Bonus + 15%</p><p>Fall Harvest Bonus + 15%</p></td></tr><tr><td align="center">Epic</td><td align="center">3</td><td align="center">Three Season Boost + 10%</td><td align="center"><p>Spring Harvest Bonus + 10%</p><p>Summer Harvest Bonus + 10%</p><p>Fall Harvest Bonus + 10%</p></td></tr><tr><td align="center">Legendary</td><td align="center">4</td><td align="center">Four Season Boost + 7.5%</td><td align="center">All Season Crop Bonus + 7.5%</td></tr><tr><td align="center">Mythic</td><td align="center">5</td><td align="center">Four Season Boost + 12.5%</td><td align="center">All Season Crop Bonus + 12.5%</td></tr></tbody></table>

**WORKERS**

Hire these workers to enjoy convenience.&#x20;

# Seasons, Day Cycle, Weather

* **Seasons** – One Season is one real-world calendar month. One game year is then four calendar months. Out-of-season crops cannot be planted (some exceptions will apply).
* **Day/Night Cycle** – Farlunians can do their activities as long as it is daytime, in-game. Crop growth and maturity are "Day" based. Daytime is from 00:01 UTC to 20:00 UTC. Server maintenance and other special events are night activities; Nighttime is from 20:01 to 24:00 UTC.

**Land Extension Permits** – Buy this NFT from the Town Hall to unlock another working row on your farm.

**Rental Fee** – Ownership of Land in Farluna is not possible until someone reaches the highest tier VISA Seal. Bronze VISA seal holders don't need to pay for rental fee. Silver VISA Seal holders onwards would need to pay a rental fee per season.

**Land Ownership** – Holding a Platinum Farluna Visa Seal is a requirement to own a piece of land in Farluna. Once a Farlunian bought land, they do not need to pay seasonal fees but instead will pay an annual real estate tax.

# Farm Activities

The Default Farm activities. The future expansions will have different activities.

<table><thead><tr><th width="150" align="center">Farm Activity</th><th width="150" align="center">Tool/Item Required</th><th width="189.6153846153846" align="center">Occurrence per Farming Cycle</th><th align="center">Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td align="center"><strong>Tilling</strong></td><td align="center">Plough</td><td align="center">Once</td><td align="center">Preparation of land for planting</td></tr><tr><td align="center"><strong>Planting</strong></td><td align="center">Seed Packs</td><td align="center">Once</td><td align="center">Actual planting of seeds</td></tr><tr><td align="center"><strong>Watering</strong></td><td align="center">Watering Can</td><td align="center">Everyday till Maturity</td><td align="center">Water is Life. # Tools

Farm Tools are required to execute farming activities. Farlunians cannot use a tool two tiers higher and lower than their current tier.&#x20;

A tool's durability will decrease per usage as detailed in the Plot to Durability ratio guide

<table><thead><tr><th width="150" align="center">Farluna VISA Seal</th><th width="150" align="center">Tier 1 Tool</th><th width="150" align="center">Tier 2 Tool</th><th width="150" align="center">Tier 3 Tool</th><th width="150" align="center">Tier 4 Tool</th><th align="center">Tier 5 Tool</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td align="center">Bronze Seal</td><td align="center">1:1</td><td align="center">10:1</td><td align="center">Cannot Use</td><td align="center">Cannot Use</td><td align="center">Cannot Use</td></tr><tr><td align="center">Silver Seal</td><td align="center">1:10</td><td align="center">1:1</td><td align="center">10:1</td><td align="center">Cannot Use</td><td align="center">Cannot Use</td></tr><tr><td align="center">Gold Seal</td><td align="center">Cannot Use</td><td align="center">1:10</td><td align="center">1:1</td><td align="center">10:1</td><td align="center">Cannot Use</td></tr><tr><td align="center">Diamond Seal</td><td align="center">Cannot Use</td><td align="center">Cannot Use</td><td align="center">1:10</td><td align="center">1:1</td><td align="center">10:1</td></tr><tr><td align="center">Platinum Seal</td><td align="center">Cannot Use</td><td align="center">Cannot Use</td><td align="center">Cannot Use</td><td align="center">1:10</td><td align="center">1:1</td></tr></tbody></table>
